Setup Carerix
Get your Carerix API Key
- XXXXX needs input from Carerix with a link on how to do this. Need help? Carerix suggests contacting your Carerix account manager or calling Carerix support at +31(0)85 743 04 50.
- (optional) Have Carerix create a developer login for Booston so Booston can provide continuous support. You can email partnersupport@carerix.com and your account manager to acquire this.
Optionally you can create a couple of custom Carerix fields that can be mapped to the Carerix connection for more flexibility. You can create a new Carerix field via ‘onderhoud’ / ‘admin’ and then select ‘tabellen’ / ‘tables’ and then click ‘+ nieuw’. The settings are added for each of the fields below.

(optional) Booston.io Boost!: this will make it possible to ‘boost’ jobs via Carerix. You can use a boost in different ways: sort a job higher on your website, have boosted jobs be added to campaigns, etc. It’s a way to make a job more urgent for different marketing purposes.
- Table: attribuut Vacature / job attribute
- Dutch/English/X: Booston.io Boost
- Type: aankruisvakje
- Zichtbaar op / visibility: basis + algemeen / default + general.
(optional) Booston candidate source: this will make it possible for Booston to label new applicants with ‘Booston’ as its candidate source.
- Table: bron kandidaat / candidate source
- Dutch/English/X: Booston
- Code: Booston
(optional) Booston source match: this will make it possible for Booston to label new applicants with ‘Booston’ as its source match.
- Table: bron match
- Dutch/English/X: Booston
- Bron kandidaat / candidate source: Booston (note: Booston candidate source needs to be set up first).
- Code: Booston
(optional) Youtube Video ID: this will make it possible to add youtube video IDs via Carerix to a job.
- Table: attribuut publicatie
- Dutch/English/X: Youtube ID
- Type: tekst / text
- Zichtbaar op / visibility: basis + publicatio
In Carerix go to ‘onderhoud’ / ‘admin’ and select media and select the media you want to use for Booston
- Note the publication ID number. In this case 81.
If you have a multilingual setup you need a medium per language. In this case, note the medium ID number for each language and differentiate the medium name for each language as follows: nl_nl (Dutch site, Dutch language), nl_en (Dutch site, English language), and so forth. - Make sure the medium is active
- Make sure the medium has published as HTML turned on
- Select the desired phase for new applicants
- Select a default source match.
- Publish at least 1 job (per language) to Booston. More information on how to do this is in this article in the section ‘Posting jobs and receiving candidates’.

Provide Booston with all collected information via support@booston.io:
- The API key
- (optional) provide the developer login for Booston
- The medium ID number(s) per language you want to assign to Booston
- (optional) The Boosto.io Boost! ID number
- (optional) The candidate source ID number
- (optional) The Match source ID number
- (optional) The Youtube Video ID number
When these steps are done your Booston environment is now connected to Carerix. Now we simply need to set up the attributes the way you like them!
Setup Booston
- Log ingin to your Booston dashboard
- Go to settings > attributes
Setting up the job’s publication texts
First, make sure you set your job text the way you like it in the ‘title and description attributes’ section.

Each of the text fields is mapped to the text fields in your Carerix Publication medium:

On Booston's side you can now optimize the text field attributes:

Which texts do you want to import? If you set an attribute at (1) inactive it won’t be active in Booston and we won’t import the mapped text field data from Carerix. If you want to have the ATS Carerix populate the information turn ‘auto-populate by ATS’ on. If the attribute is active but ‘auto-populate by ATS’ is turned off you can manually add content in Booston to a job at any time.Edit the attribute

- Label: give the text attribute a header to your liking.
- Text search: decide if the text attribute should be taken into account when somebody does a text search on the website.
- Search rank: decide in which order the text attributes should be ordered. E.g., in which order they should show up on the job’s website page.
- On the job detail page: should the job text be visible on the job’s website page?
- In job box: when presenting a job list like so: https://preview.booston.io/vacatures. Should the job text be used to present an introduction?
When all text attributes have been managed you can check the output via recruitment > jobs > click a job. Like so:

(note: make sure at least 1 job is published to Booston in Carerix to check the results).
Setting up the remaining job attributes
On the remaining sections of settings,> attributes, we can now manage the job’s attribute values like different job segmentations (categories, branches, etc.), salary attributes, location attributes, etc.

Which attributes do you want to import. If you set an attribute at (1) inactive it won’t be active in Booston and we won’t import the mapped attribute value in Booston. If you want to have the ATS Carerix populate the information turn ‘auto-populate by ATS’ to on. If the attribute is active but ‘auto-populate by ATS’ is turned off you can manually add content in Booston to a job at any time via recruitment > jobs > edit job > edit the respective attribute.Edit the attribute

- Label: give the text attribute a header to your liking.
- Text search: decide if the text attribute should be taken into account when somebody does a text search on the website.
- Search rank: decide in which order the text attributes should be ordered. E.g., in which order they should show up on the job’s website page.
- Jobalert: should the value be active in the jobalert form? E.g.: https://preview.booston.io/jobalert
- On the job detail page: should the job text be visible on the job’s website page?
- In job box: when presenting a job list like so: https://preview.booston.io/vacatures. Should the job text be used to present an introduction?
- In job alert mail: would the attribute value be listed in a job alert mail when a candidate receives an update about a new suitable job?
Check the attribute values coming in from Carerix. Via the ‘hamburger menu,’ you can check all values that came in so far.

A new attribute value will automatically be added to the list when a new Carerix job enters the Booston system with a yet unknown value. If you want to, you can also rewrite values at this moment on Booston's side and tweak them independently of Carerix to your liking. Great, you’re all set! Now let’s start posting some jobs!
Posting jobs and receiving candidates

Now you set up your job with all desired fields. These are some of the fields that will be imported into Booston when this job gets published to Booston as described in the previous section of this article:

When the job is created you go to the publications tab and create a new publication:

Make sure to:
- (optional) Enter a correct date range.
- Set the status to something ‘positive’ like ‘Gepubliceerd’.
- Select the medium you use for Booston publications as described in the setup phase of this article
- Click save.
On the next run, your newly created job and its corresponding publication are imported into Booston. You can check your new job via recruitment > jobs

Or check Carerix via the publication on the admin tab. We will post back the job URL here as well:
